Meet Tilak — Founder of AUMIKA®

One-of-a-Kind Engagement Ring Sourcing Specialist

Our Story

AUMIKA® was founded by Tilak, a GIA Graduate Gemologist and veteran jeweler whose journey into gemstones began long before the brand itself.

Tilak comes from a traditional goldsmith family in Bharat (India), where jewelry is not simply decoration — it is heritage, craftsmanship, and legacy.

Over 22 years ago, he trained in Surat, the diamond capital of the world, learning how to cut and understand diamonds at their most fundamental level.

That early experience shaped the way he approaches gemstones today: with patience, precision, and deep respect for the stone.

Building Global Expertise

In 2009, Tilak founded Arun Gems International, a company focused on sourcing and trading rare diamonds and gemstones across global markets.

Through this work, he developed direct relationships with suppliers, cutters, and traders in many of the world's most important gemstone centers.

Over the years, Tilak has traveled to more than 40 countries, including the mining, cutting, and trading capitals of the world.

This global experience allows him to source gemstones that rarely appear in traditional jewelry stores.

Why AUMIKA® Was Created

After decades in the gemstone trade, Tilak saw a growing problem in the modern jewelry industry.

Engagement rings were becoming increasingly mass-produced, repetitive, and disconnected from the individuality they are meant to represent.

So he created AUMIKA® to do things differently.

Instead of selling rings from catalogs, AUMIKA® begins with intentional diamond and gemstone sourcing — finding rare stones first, then designing a ring around the unique beauty of that gem.

Every piece is created once and never repeated.

Values That Shape the Work

Tilak is also a Navy combat veteran, and that experience deeply influences how he approaches his work.

Military service reinforced the importance of discipline, integrity, and responsibility — values that carry directly into the way AUMIKA® serves its clients.

When someone trusts AUMIKA® to create a piece that represents love and commitment, that responsibility is taken personally.

A Personal Commitment

Today, Tilak continues to personally source rare diamonds and gemstones for AUMIKA® clients.

Every stone is selected with intention, verified for authenticity, and chosen for its character and beauty.

Because the most meaningful jewelry should begin with a gem that is truly rare.

The AUMIKA® Standard

What We Accept

  • Rare and meaningful gemstones — Every piece begins with a diamond or gemstone selected intentionally for its beauty, rarity, and character.
  • Personal design journeys — Each ring evolves through a thoughtful design process with unlimited revisions until every detail feels right.
  • Clients who value individuality — AUMIKA® is best suited for those who want a piece that reflects their story — not something chosen from a display case.
  • Jewelry meant to last generations — Every piece is crafted with the intention that it will be worn, remembered, and passed down.

What We Reject

  • Mass-produced jewelry — AUMIKA® does not reproduce designs or manufacture rings in volume.
  • Catalog-based stone selection — Every gemstone is intentionally sourced — never selected from generic inventory lists.
  • Rushed decisions — Meaningful jewelry deserves time, patience, and careful attention.
  • Compromises on authenticity or beauty — Every gemstone is personally evaluated and verified by a GIA Graduate Gemologist.
